Lock repair & replacement in Ocoee, FL

A key that turns but won’t throw the bolt, a door you have to lift by the handle, a deadbolt that only works in dry weather — most of that is repair work, not replacement. We fix first and replace only when the lock is genuinely done.

What’s included

  • Diagnosis first: worn cylinder, seized bolt, loose tailpiece — the repair is quoted before parts are touched.
  • Doors that have settled or swelled in Florida humidity — strike plates realigned so the bolt stops fighting the frame. Half of “broken locks” in the older houses around the lake and off Bluford Avenue are really door alignment, not lock failure.
  • Original hardware brought back to working order where parts exist — and an honest verdict when they don’t.
  • Sliding patio and Florida-room doors: secondary locks, foot bolts, and latches that actually latch again.
  • When replacement is the right call: proper deadbolt where there was only a knob, and the new hardware keyed to match the rest of the house.

What moves the price

  • Whether parts for older hardware are still made — a fifty-year-old cylinder can be a quick fix or a dead end.
  • How much alignment work the door itself needs before any lock will run smoothly.
  • The grade of hardware you choose when a lock does get replaced.

Typical range: $60–$150 for the work; replacement hardware is priced separately. You get both numbers before anything starts.

Quick answers

The key turns but the bolt doesn’t move. Fixable?

Usually yes — it’s typically a worn tailpiece or a cylinder that has come loose inside the lock. Both are repair jobs, not replacements, in most cases.

Is my old lock worth repairing at all?

Often. Solid older hardware was built to be serviced, and parts are still around for the common brands. When a lock is genuinely past saving, we’ll say so on the spot and quote the replacement — before doing the work.

The door sticks in summer and works in winter. Is the lock bad?

That’s the door, not the lock — Florida humidity swells the wood and the bolt starts hitting the strike plate. Realigning the plate usually solves it for good, and it costs less than a new lock.

The door has only a knob lock. Can you add a real deadbolt?

Yes — one of the most common upgrades on the older stock. The new deadbolt is fitted, and the new hardware is keyed to match the rest of the house.

Do you repair commercial doors too?

Yes — storefront cylinders, panic hardware and service doors are the commercial side of the same trade. Count the doors and say what they are for a per-job quote.

Lock fighting back?

Describe what the key does — we’ll quote the fix before we come out.
