Car lock repair & replacement in Ocoee, FL

A door lock that spins freely, a trunk cylinder that won’t turn, an ignition that eats the key — car lock hardware is repairable more often than a dealership admits. We fix first and replace only when the part is genuinely done.

What’s included

  • Worn door cylinders brought back to working order — wafers re-fitted, springs replaced, before any replacement is suggested.
  • Full assemblies replaced when the housing is genuinely done — and the new hardware keyed to match your existing key where possible.
  • Vehicle rekeying per cylinder: one key across doors, trunk and ignition on older vehicles where the hardware allows.
  • The work trucks and boat-tow rigs around Starke Lake and Maguire Road — their door cylinders take a beating from job sites, and we stock the common replacements.
  • Proof of ownership required for any lock work — same rule as keys, and it protects you.

What moves the price

  • Cylinder repair versus full assembly — the second costs more in parts, not in labor.
  • The vehicle’s age and make: common truck brands are stocked; some foreign cylinders have to be ordered and are quoted honestly as such.
  • Whether the ignition is involved — column work is priced differently from door hardware.

Priced by job: door cylinders from $80, full assemblies from $130, ignition work from $100, vehicle rekeying $70–$120 per cylinder. You get the number before anything starts.

Quick answers

Repair or replace — how do you decide on a car lock?

Same rule as house locks: if the cylinder can be re-pinned or its worn parts swapped, that’s the cheaper and better call. Full replacement only when the housing or the mechanism is genuinely done — and you hear both numbers first.

The door lock spins but never locks. Can that be fixed?

Yes — that’s a classic worn wafer or a broken actuator linkage inside the cylinder. It’s a repair job on most makes, done in the van.

Can you make my old key work on a replaced cylinder?

Usually — the new cylinder can be pinned to your existing key on common vehicles, so you don’t end up with two keys for one truck.

Is ignition repair something a locksmith does?

Yes — sticky ignitions, keys that won’t return, cylinders that jam are lock work. When it’s a steering-column electrical fault beyond the lock, we say so honestly and point you to a shop.

Do you come to where the vehicle is parked?

Yes — home driveway in Ocoee, a work lot, the roadside. The van carries the common cylinders and the machines; that’s the point of a mobile shop.
